KAPDI●DE KOCK PHYSIOTHERAPISTS was established in 2015. Our scope of practice and experience are within the fields of Acute Cardiopulmonary Rehab and Respiratory Care.
We currently service patients in an acute hospital setting covering all conditions in the above scope of practice.
Our team comprises of 8 Physiotherapists who manage Intensive Care, High Care and Ward patients.
The practice is operational 365 days a year and offers an on call after hours service for emergency Physiotherapy treatments if required and motivated for by a referring Dr.

Expanding the practice to include a Chronically based final stage Cardiopulmonary Rehab Component. Providing a multidisciplinary support system to rehabilitate and educate patients from the acute to final stages. To assist patients in making the necessary lifestyle changes needed to offer them an improved quality of life post hospitalization or with chronic disease.
Meet the Kapdi●De Kock team

Cheryl De Kock
Qualified as a Physiotherapist at the University of Pretoria in 1970 and retains a passion for the profession since. After gaining much experience in Public and Private Healthcare in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Richards Bay, Cheryl moved to Cape town in 1993.
In addition to working at a private Outpatient Department she also held a Clinical Supervisory post to students at UWC. In 1996 she started her solus practice at Willowmead Medical Centre and conducted locum work for the Seegers, Thaning and Smit Practice.
In 2015 she partnered with Farheen Kapdi to take over the disbanded Seegers group. Cheryl’s wealth of knowledge and experience as a generalist in the field of physiotherapy is invaluable to the practice.

Farheen Kapdi
Graduated at the University of the Western Cape with a Bsc in Physiotherapy in 2000. Initially she worked on an ad hoc locum basis for various practices, where she had the opportunity to dapple in the different fields of physiotherapy.
In 2001 she was employed by the Seegers, Thaning, Smit Physiotherapy Group as a locum and soon became a permanent employee.
Farheen has a great passion for the field of Acute Critical Care and in 2005 started her own practice at Gatesville Medical Centre.
Being exposed to the suffering of her patients, caused by a sedentary lifestyle, she has developed an intense interest in the final stages of Cardiopulomonary Rehab for critically and chronically ill patients.
In 2015 she was offered the opportunity to take over the Vincent Pallotti branch of the disbanded Seegers Group as managing partner. It is her long term goal to expand the practice to offer patients post discharge a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program that will serve to educate them on the importance of physical activity as part of a lifestyle change and guide and support them through the transition to a better quality of life.

Zubeidah Jacobs
Attained her BSc in Physiotherapy at the University of the Western Cape in 1996. She worked at Tygerberg hospital for 6 years before her commitment to her growing family persuaded her to find a post allowing more flexibility.
In 2002 she started working for the Seegers,Smith and Thaning Physiotherapy group and continues to be an asset to our practice today.
Zubeidah applies great passion to her work. She is a team player and values a multidisciplinary approach to ensure holistic healing for our patients.
As well as striving to keep abreast of all current physiotherapy treatment trends and research, Zubeidah also enjoys giving back by introducing budding future physiotherapists to the profession and managing the job shadowing initiatives for the practice.

Dr Shamila Manie
Qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1996 at the University of the Western Cape. She has worked at the Stellenbosch & UCT Physiotherapy Departments and has co-wrote many publications in the fields of Respiratory Care and Cardiopulmonary Rehab. In 2022 she completed her Phd in Physiotherapy and is currently lecturing at the University of Cape Town. To maintain her craft, Shamila continues to locum for our practice. Being abreast on all current academia, Shamila proves to be a great asset to the practice.

Kate Cason
Completed her Physiotherapy degree through Stellenbosch University in 2013 and is currently completing her masters through her alma mater. Since starting with Kapdi-De Kock in 2016, she has acquired additional training in Aqua-therapy , Dry Needling and Pilates. Kate thoroughly enjoys working in a care giving environment and her warm sense of humour endears her to our patients. In 2017 Kate started her own solus practice offering continued rehabilitation in the home environment.

Tamzin Vermeulin
Graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy at UWC in 2014. She then proceeded to complete her community service in Piketberg working in both a hospital and out-patient setting. This has brought a multifaceted approach to her management of patients.
Tamzin is a generalist and enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions. She runs her own private practice in Strandfontein and offers a home visit service in various areas.

Zameera Hoosain
Attained her BSc in Physiotherapy degree at UWC in 2003. After completing her community service at Groote Schuur Hospital, she was offered a permanent post.
Having gained experience in all the fields of physiotherapy, her passion rooted itself in neurology and she completed the Bobath course in 2006. In 2008 Zameera was appointed as senior physiotherapist in neurology and neurosurgery at GSH. Since 2013 she has been a clinical supervisor to final year students at both UCT and UWC.
In 2016 Zameera joined the KDK Physiotherapy Group whilst continuing with her clinical supervision duties. Her warm and vibrant nature is infectious and has proven to be a huge asset to our practice.

Ce’Nedra Anderson
Graduated from the university of the Witwatersrand in 2013 with a Bsc in Physiotherapy. After completing a year of community service in Carletonville, Gauteng, she moved to Cape Town where she found her passion for cardiorespiratory and pediatric physiotherapy. Ce’Nedra enjoys engaging with the families of her patients and meeting people from all walks of life adds to the rewards of her chosen profession. In 2018 she started working for Kapdi De Kock Physiotherapists where she had the opportunity to explore her interest in cardiopulmonary rehab.
